    Process

    The process is fairly simple.

    1. We recommend that you reivew our Certification FAQ.
    2. Applicants will need to fill out a short application.
    3. Applicants will upload their Verification of Course Completion — either a certificate or letter of completion from the Course Director confirming the successful completion of an IMSLEC-accredited training course.
    4. Regarding CE hours:
      • Applicants who graduated within the last year from their course will not have to upload proof CE hours.
      • Applicants who graduated more than a year ago will have to upload proof of 10 CE hours / year since they graduated (for up to 2 years).
      • Applicants who graduated more than 2 years ago must also upload a certificate of good standing / current certification from their course or a certification body (such as ALTA, CERI, etc.) in addition to the CE hours mentioned above.
      • Audits will be performed on a randomized selection of applications with CE hours.
    5. Applicants will submit their $100 Application Fee, which includes first year dues.
    6. Renewals
      • Certification is valid through September 30. Applications received after May 1 will be good through September 30 of the following year.
      • Certification renewal will require proof of 10 CE hours since September 30 of the previous year.
      • You will need to ensure that the your Proof of CEs adheres to IMSLEC's CE Policies and Procedures.
      • Audits will be performed on a randomized selection of renewals.
